Cryniarth is situated in the countryside within an area of outstanding beauty. There has been a farm known as Cryniarth on this site from around 1080. It is thought that this particular structure was built in the 1700s.

The most famous era was between 1282 and 1485 when Cryniarth was home to the Barons of Edeyrnion. Cryniarth also has connections with Meredydd Prince of Powys, who owned the farm in the 1100s.
